Diagnostic Imaging

We believe in offering our patients as many services as possible in a single location for your comfort and convenience. That’s why we have CT and DEXA scanners right in our offices.

CT (Computer Tomography) allows us to generate a computerized 3-D image of bone, soft tissues and/or blood vessels by taking a series of two-dimensional images. It is quick, painless, accurate and non-invasive, and can often be performed even if you have an implanted medical device. It provides, in real time, images so clear that the need for exploratory surgery or biopsy may be reduced or eliminated, and side effects are minimal or non-existent.

DEXA (Dual Energy X-Ray Absortiometry) scans are an important tool to assist in diagnosing certain medical conditions, as well as to monitor bone mineral density for those individuals currently in treatment. When compared with other methods, DEXA scans are better able to monitor subtle changes in bone density, is is flexible in how and where the scans may be taken on the body, requires no anesthesia and has little or no side effects.

When it comes to all of our testing procedures and equipment, we use every reasonable precaution to minimize patient exposure to safeguard you and your family.

CT Techs

The use of CT, or CAT, scanning, is one tool that physicians use to determine how well treatment is working or whether additional treatment is needed. Our CT techs Danita Hagen, RT (R)(M)(CT)(MR) and Brianne Shanks, RT (R) (CT) not only schedule patients for CAT scans, but also answer patient questions, resolve concerns and draw laboratory samples. For patient comfort, our CT techs utilize the same site as the IV site in order to prevent patients from having to undergo another needle stick.
